Community Tasting Notes (6) Avg Score: 85.7 points

  • Rich plums on the schnoz w/ pepper and some spice mix w/ clove as a background spice. Some blackberry jam. Vainlla and the slightest whiff of coffee grounds.

Drying tannins in the mouth, fruit is dropping off. It's not bad for a 6 year old 10-15aud wine. A tad over extracted, with the bitterness being too heavy that even time will not heal. A bit of dust hanging about perhaps dusty cedar wood sitting on leather almost as if its thinking about developing some tertiary characters.

  • Very tasty, but a bit 'fat' and port-like, but very good nonetheless - Almost black, full bodied, notes of plum, black cherry, pepper and vanilla on the nose, very extracted, a bit of heat on the palate, smooth on the finish with medium length, nice (88 Points).

  • A decent Oz Shiraz, a bit over the top for me, but there was a good acidity to it that kept it going with typical blackberry and spice you find with Shiraz. For $28.00 Cdn, you can find better for the $$$$$.

  • Opaque Purple in colour, with Blackberry and slightly piercing black pepper on the nose, replicated on the palate but with the pepper/spice and alcohol really quite prominent. I found this a dense but not overfruited and slightly hot immature shiraz (15%alc). At this stage in it's life there's little complexity. I'm sure the hot vintage didn't help, what for me is a slightly simple (and potentially unbalanced) wine.
I'm not saying it's not a good wine, nor undrinkable, just one that doesn't suit me.

  • Darkish red with mocha hue, blackberries on the nose & a peppery plum palate with slightly grainy tannis & a lenghty finish
