Decanted for 30 mins before serving. Black pepper, meat, minerals and smoked fruit. Showing clearly more depth and length side by side against the 11 Reynard. Still a baby but very promising.

As good as advertised. Up front it's all black pepper, dark fruit, gaminess. Palate has ample acidity, and for a 2011 plenty of structure. With air, a ton of olive tapenade comes out. Balanced, expressive, and for me, as good as Syrah gets.

he 11 SS is really starting to come out of its shell. Initially it has been overly rustic for me, the last bottle about 6 months ago started to show brighter fruit after 4-5 hours. This one showed more fruit fairly quickly - 45 minutes in the decanter. It did have a more savage nature to the wine than the prior bottles. It seemed further along the aging curve. Not bothersome now as it made it more approachable.

Decanted for a good five hours, black, tar, violets, a hint of 'sauvage' lithe, yet full. Violets, some charcuterie and weightless power. Great stuff. Drank next to a 2014 Soldera Casse Bass which was a nice contrast in styles.

Pulling a Kevin Shin - a full day of fine wines over leisurely meals; 6/8/2018-6/11/2018 (Southern California): dark, tannic, Black fruited with an edge of rusticity on the palate. Really persistent tannin to match that dark fruit and game profile. Had a heavier weight that almost tasted of reduction with a saline presence. The nose shows similar in that it’s dusty, earthy cigar with black fruit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
