  • Lite cloudy orange-red color. Mixed berries and somewhat strong alcohol on the nose. Nice musty blackberries.

  • Shiny ruby color with a touch of bricking towards the rim. Opens up very nicely with some air. Deep and layered, with notes of sweet spices, cinnamon, cloves, some pepper, also some dark and dark red berries, menthol, violets, some herbs, graphite, some sandalwood, a touch of orange zest, there is also a touch of sous-bois starting to develop. Medium-full bodied, feels lighter but persistent, with medium-high acidity adding nice freshness, and medium+ tannin that is present but silky. Very good length. A superb and complex Corton that is at the beginning of its drinking window and will provide a lot of joy for the next 10 years or so.

  • Shiny ruby color with just a touch of evolving towards the rim. This takes about an hour or so to open up aromatically. Layered and pretty, with notes of sweet spices, cinnamon, strawberries, dark red cherries, some graphite, smoke, sandalwood, sweet spices. It‘s medium-full bodied, with medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin that is very good quality, especially considering the warmer vintage that led to structured, but sometimes slightly hard wines. Long finish with beautiful complexity and very good freshness. I would probably still give this another 2-3 years to integrate the tannin even more, but a beautifully complete wine and just so aromatic.

  • Subtle, smoky, spicy, mineral nose with hints of sauvage and animale.
Fine, lacy elegant palate, high acidity with tannin seemingly absent, sandalwood spice, dark purple berries, charred meats but predominantly a complex mineral wine. This is still very young but not shy, quite delightful right now but the best is still to come. Barely any evolution over 6 hours open.

  • Shiny ruby color. Intensely perfumed nose of sweet strawberries, dark red cherries, some minerality, crushed dark flowers, sweet spices like cinnamon and cloves. On the palate similar notes of sweet red and dark red fruit, some graphite, sweet spices and also a flowery note. It's medium-full bodied with medium-high tannin that is very silky, but also some medium+ acidity providing freshness. Good length. A very pretty, round and elegant Corton. It's irresistible now but will probably be even better in 3 - 5 years.

Day 2: Showing even better and more open. Also some orange zest, spices and very good complexity. Very perfumed. (94 - 95p)
