In the nose like a German PN, wood, licorice forrest ground, strawberry, smoky, in the palate tannins feel a little bit harsh, but after time it develops a nice bouquet and the tannins feel softer, I thought it could be a Gantenbein, a very good cool climate PN

Lovely bright cherry fruit, cola, beet. Sweet and round, this is a real pleasure to drink at the minute, but will certainly develop. Certainly right now it's more obvious pleasure than nuance. Lots of fun though!

Wine tasting with 10 others. Drank 4 pinots to show the difference between New World and France and what you get for your money. 2011 Anne Gros Bourgogne, 2010 Escarpment, 2011 Ten Minutes By Tractor and Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir Isabelle. The Gros was overshadowed by all the others, but still was a nice bottle, drinking very well now. It was pale red, with a light nose of forest floor, cherries and the fruit on the palate was again, light and it was well balanced. 87 points Escarpment was much darker and more powerful, it had developed a lot more, with lots of upfront fruitiness of sour cherries with hints of smokiness and fuller in the mouth, with some earthiness. 89 points Ten Minutes was very good and was more strawberry than cherry and was more complex than the Bourgogne and less full than the Escarpment. It was well structured and finely balanced. Very nice. 90 points Au Bon was again different, more akin to the Aussie Pinot but was more cherry and a bit of spice very nice 90 points

Nice nose. Preferred the initial pours. Still, a good Pinot!

A night of Riesling and Pinot in Ngaio!; 12/11/2020-12/13/2020 (Abbot Street, Ngaio, Wellington, New Zealand): Drunk next to an older Grand Cru Burgundy from a structured year, this came across as richer, warmer, more generous, with considerably more new oak influence. The ABC is certainly ready and feels mature. It is fleshy, open knit , and displays a very nice sense of structure.
