Beautifully resolved bottle of aged red Burg. Smells of forest floor, cherries, earth and pine needle sap. It has a brown sugar sweetness in the mouth with plenty of savoury nuance. It is lacy and perfectly proportioned and the long earthy finish is strewn with iron filings. There still bright acidity backlighting all of the tertiary characters.

This is in good shape. There's certainly some decaying leave development and brown sugar sweetness. It is quite savoury in the mouth, tinged with meat and earth. There's a touch of fruit rind bitterness to the finish and a light waft of smoke permeates the palate.
