Upon opening there are definitely some green notes, but they seem to subside in 30+ minutes. Once they do, this is really in a great spot - though it probably has more years in it. The fruit is still generously sweet. I had this w/ miso cod & mushrooms (w/ a miso glaze). This had just enough fruit to stand up to the sugar in the glazes. This is almost quaffable (in a totally elegant, stateful way). I haven't tried any of their other bottles/vintages yet to compare against - but for (mature) Burgundy, this is a pretty good QPR.

Blackberry, forest fruits, plum, sous bois; smooth, well-structured, balanced, extended, wise and wizened, slightly watery; eminently drinkable 15 Minutes: Notes of game emerging on nose; fuller body, slightly effervescent; very pleasant to drink

La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Colicchio & Sons - New York NY): Tasted in 06/05/04 vertical. Good red fruit at its core, certainly mature, just faint hints of green elements in the background.

The Verticals Tasting at La Paulée 2015 (Colicchio & Sons, New York): No mistaking the high toned green notes, but pleasing weight and fruit. A sound, inoffensive 2004.
