  • This was a "found in the cellar" wine of which I have 3, and the previous notes had me a little concerned. Well, it was rather uninspired on the pop with little fruit and interest, as previously noted. A short bit of air (and food) did help this out a bit, fortunately, though not thoroughly. It's a light and rustic effort here for sure.

Medium garnet color with bricking edges. A little tight aromatically, with tar, fresh herbs, dry leaves, and maybe a little dark red fruits. Medium body, acid, and finish, with drying tannins and flavors of dark red fruits, black tea, and lemon. Not a lot of fruit though. Blend of nebbiolo and vespolina. Better with food, and not terrible, but not great. Nice label. In spite of the tannins, I think I'll drink these sooner than later.

  • Non-descript nose. Maybe some red fruits and a touch of spice but nothing spectacular.

Nice bright cherry attack with a switch hit to dusty cherries shortly on the front end of the mid-palate. Abrupt sucker punch of tannin puts it away.

I might as well have been chewing on a piece of cherry flavored oak.

Ironically, like the only other tasting note at the time of writing, had with pizza. Barely worth the pizza. I feel sad for you if you waste this on even a low grade piece of meat.

  • Very tannic with almost no fruit, drank with pizza, have another bottle so I will drink it again. Oh well.
