Tried again a year later, and found more to like in this wine. Good extraction, light acid, sufficient tannins. Last try, I felt this wine was too soft and missing tannic support. Lagrein doesn't have a lot of complex layers, but is pleasant and has its own character. Like Zinfandel, perhaps, it is what it is, and doesn't try to be something else. And $20 isn't a bad price for a tasty wine.

Different, interesting. Very strong fruit, but with little acid or tannin to give it backbone. I know nothing of Lagrein, but had to give this one credit for having such great extraction.
