  A few days ago we drank this wine and thought it was buttery. However, tonight, we drank it with a buttery Chicken Kiev and a melange of grains, beans, and greens, and the wine tasted different. Tonight it tasted minerally, almost metallic, strong-shouldered, not at all subtle. The buttery notes were restrained tonight, a greater emphasis on oak and a tartness or tanginess in the mouth. Reminded me slightly of apricot brandy I was served by a neighbor in Japan many years ago. Probably not appropriate for a cream sauce or a fish dish. We really didn't notice the "tropical fruit...lemon zest" noted on the label. Not sure we will buy again.

  Well, it wasn't as terrible as I expected it to be, and certainly not as bad as their Pinot Noir. It tasted industrial to me, and that's the first word that came to mind. And there is no way in the world I could convinced that this us 100% Chardonnay. I believe in California it only has to be 75% varietal in order to label the wine as that varietal. Now, I have to say that I finished the bottle so it wasn't the worst "Chardonnay" that I've ever tasted. Overpriced at $9.

  A bit on the heavy side but not in an oaky way. Lots of ripe pear, peach syrup, a touch of butterscotch and roasted almond. This is fairly thick with low acidity and a medium finish.
