  • Domaine du Castel visit & tasting (Domaine du Castel): pink colored
pleasant nose of strawberry, pink grapefruit with dusty-rocky notes.
light bodied, gentle tannins, good acidity level, fruity flavours of cherry, citrus, lean complexity, with short but refreshing finish.
    quite expensive for its value.

  • This wine is a blend of 60% Merlot, 22% Malbec, and 18% Cabernet Franc, it was amde using the saignee process. The pink colored wine shows a lovely nose of strawberry, tart pink grapefruit, and mineral. The mouth on this light bodied wine is truly un-captivating in every way. The mouth starts with cherry, citrus pith, and nice acidity, but lacks any complexity, and is so light bodied it can barely hold its own against guda cheese. The finish is short and is plain with the only real interesting part being the lovely pith that explodes at the very end of the finish and the tart fruit.

The wine itself is not flawed in anyway, but with so little complexity and joy, there are far better and far cheaper options out there for you all.

  • A blend this year of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec it's color is a light pink with orange reflections featuring aromas of fresh strawberries, cherries an grapefruit. The wine is light in body and very refreshing with flavors of tart pink grapefruit, sour cherries and strawberries, pomegranate, with a hint of minerality and fine acidity. Albeit short, the finish is refreshing with plenty of tart red fruit making this a very nice summer wine to enjoy with BBQ, or outdoors on a hot afternoon. I liked it very much and it is an improvement from the 2012 vintage. 13% Abv.
