Terroir-istes International - France, Regional (Cape Town Law offices): (Tasted Blind): A mid-red garnet colour. Deep nose with notes of barnyard, black cherry, sea salt, morello cherries and earth - at first. There is a less attractive faecal element and a slightly unclean, carbonic character, especially stalky, with an edge that almost smelt like a crumbled cork tree. The entry of this medium-bodied wine is a gritty tannic grip paired with high acidity, with flavours of malic apple but accompanied by a blackberry and cherry pie and some uncooked pastry dough. Altogether rather rustic and to me unbalanced - a little "natural" it didn't appear to have TCA taint despite the discussion within the group.

I have a high tca threshold but this came across as lightly corked. Not the classic wet cardboard but extremely muted (and not just shut down). A hint of earth/red fruit but stale. Not oxidized.

Interesting nose between Rhone and Pinot Noir. A bit spicey on the nose, but with red currant, other red fruit. On taste smooth tannins that bite on the tongue and the front palate. Light acidity, good balance, and a chalky but fruit driven finish. Still young with fruit driving the flavors. Interesting wine.
