  • Opens quite reductive, with a medium ruby meniscus and a slight rusty variation on the rim. Viscous legs.
The nose is dominated by roasted coffee beans notes, underpinned by ripe strawberries, cranberries and red and black cherries. Sweet spices and liquorice root, dried flowers, undergrowth.
Palate is lively, fine acid structure and pointilliste tannins to carry the flavour.
As in Duband style -not my favourite- the barrel ageing process takes away the fruit pleasure and gives a fat, short impression of its length and potential.
I wonder if the oak is ever going to soften, but it is too early to judge.
    Drink by 2025.
