  This is why we save them. This wine was probably quite drinkable on release 1n 1997, and the bottle age only made it better. Nose is still vibrant and fresh. Very dark colored. The bright fresh fruit is only now changing into a more cola, licorice, and roasted blueberry profile. The acids and tannins have smoothed, matured, and integrated. What was probably a massive amount of oak is in the background, helping everything stay harmonious and in balance. Can just barely feel the alcohol, and the finish is fruity. Could have lasted a few more years.
