I always forgot how much I enjoy this wine until I open a bottle. Such balance and class. Sweetness on the palate but with superb acidity and cut giving a zestiness. Light on its feet. Petroleum on the nose. Some spices.

A generous gift from SRH. Nose of lemon zest with minerals, faint petrol, and a savory aspect I couldn't quite put my finger on. On the plate, good weight with the sweetness offset by lemon lime acidity. Turns more spicy on the finish with a moderately long finish.
I know this producer typically doesn't use any grapes with botrytis for spatlese, but given the vintage with rains at the end of the season and the spiciness on the finish, I wonder if some botrytis made it's way to the wine. Not sure if it will get better, but in a good place and will hold easily for another 5-10 years.
P: Med body; LOVELY, SWTISH frt BEAUTIFULLY counterbalanced by an acidity which deftly evolves into a LONG, BALANCED, tangy/swt finish. CLASSY stuff, likely still on the upswing -- & should hold until the LATE 2020s, poss longer? CLEARLY my EXC, higher down the line, particularly if one can match it with the proper cuisine. (We had it with Chx in COSTCO's Vindaloo Sauce, where it did WELL mitigating the spice/heat.) [As of early Oct '19, wine-searcher still shows a source @ $53].

Another cracking showing. Such an easy wine to enjoy. Light sweetness on the palate but great acidity and structure. Long life ahead.

Lovely balance. Sweetness but good underlying acidity.
