A dark colour; impressive, deep, with blueberry and blackberry fruit, typical Italian minerality and spice, and good length. This is still drinking very well, so it is a pity it is my last bottle. An unusual wine, and in its way exceptional.

Quite a deep colour, showing some brown; the palate is quite rich and full, with dark cherry and blackberry fruit and some gamey overtones. A very attractive Pinot noir, marred only by the excessive (and obvious) alcohol (14.5%).

This was drunk out-of-doors on a warm evening, and the wine itself was initially too warm, with slightly stewed fruit; however, a quick spell in the fridge brought the temperature down, and the wine was much fresher, with cherry/raspberry fruit, some weight, a little tannin and good length. The Italian character is more obvious than the pinot noir, but it is a very good and interesting wine nevertheless.

Ripe, round, pinot fruit with attractive cherry, raspberry and blueberry flavours, good weight and length. Perhaps a little more oak and a little more alcohol than I would like, but this is by any standards very good pinot noir. Should keep well.

Fragrant, ripe, lively and long. Still youthful, but good to drink now.
