This has cellared beautifully. While I enjoyed it the first night, I'm rating it because it popped right out as really something special the second night, pushing 90. Delicious fruit and aftertaste, very smooth.

This was really nice! A great nose with ripe berries and red fruit with hints of oak. On the palate it was very lush and juicy with a long finish. Quite sweet, so not a wine I would have on its own. Have it with a nice stew, we did; an Italian beef stew which had a red wine and chopped tomato base for the sauce. You can also replace the beef with wild boar or venison (which would suit it better than plain beef my mind) for this wine, but no white meats. Lovely bottle for c. £15. I would have it again.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig, strawberry and tobacco. It tastes like strawberry and red currant with hints of vanilla. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are fast. It smells like raisin and a tiny bit of wet leaves and barnyard. It tastes like bing cherry. The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes short.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting 11/15/2014 Cellar in Greene, Columbia, SC (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC): This is everything we could ask for in a Zin. Some of these vines are 113 years old, yet this wine sells for $14 in South Carolina, and can be found for less elsewhere. The quality and intensity are immediate on both the nose and the palate with rich buttery blueberry and mulberry aromas and flavors with a hint of vanilla. Not just fruit, this one delivers spicy wet dirt with graphite and some cocoa powder. So clean and elegant, yet it will give you purple teeth. Moderate oak and tannins. The finish shows some red fruit first, then mulberry and black cherry with leather, graphite and wet earth.
