Too young from a tannic point of view, but acid is lacking. On the nose: classic tar, blood orange, and a touch of soft leather. On the palate, acidity seems low, then excellent ripe raspberry, spice and cranberry. Loads of coarse tannin on the rustic finish. Tannin could definitely soften, but not sure the acidity is there to balance.

Last of three bottles. Lacking energy, though tannins still present. Low acidity and fruit, quite dry. Short, elusive. Not unpleasant, but I don't see how this could improve over the coming decade, as some community drink dates would claim.

This is a lovely wine that is drinking well now. Pretty "tar and rose" aromas easily flow from the glass. Very balanced on the palate. Good fruit weight but not too thick. Moderate dried-cherry-like acidity. I love the tannins--firmly present but not abrasive. Seems very well-made.

30 minute decant. Medium ruby with slight bricking. Aromas and flavours of strawberry, oak, spice, dried flowers. Medium body, medium-high acid, XD, M+ tannins. Seems a little out of balance, all acids and tannins without much fruit. No different day 2. Not surprised the 2012 vintage is selling for 25% less than 2011 at the LCBO.

In that stage where it needs 30 minutes to unfurl and should be drank in 2 hours. After that, the harmony turns into about 3 solos, fortunately within the same key signature.
