P: MF body; Nice frt met by some structure; Long, VERY slightly astringent finish. Decent for the price, this needs 12'18 mos, though MAY not have the frt to emerge from that. 13.5% ABV 86 pts from WE @ $14, so this vendor's $5.99 MIGHT wind up qualifying as a RIDICULOUS value!

With meat loaf, mashed potatoes, peas Opened 30 minutes before consumption. Did not decant. Purple, not quite opaque. Color consistent to the rim. Nose a bit indistinct, maybe some plum among generic fruit. Moderate weight, some acid playing against a touch of tannin, dry but not austere. Dark fruit (perhaps with a touch of bitters), and hint of earth. A bit more than a PNP. Opened up a bit with time.

Decanted and let it sit for forty minutes. Nice nose of stemy black fruit and vanilla. The pallet has plenty of sweet plums and other black fruit, with black coffee and chocolate on the moderate finish. An enjoyable bottle for the price.

13/20. Overly sweet, almost chewy, ripe plums. Not a good example of malbec at all.
