This wine took a good hour to open up and for the fruit to reveal itself. Paired well with a variety of small plates including beer and arugula salad and need tartar. Drinking well.

Fine Vines Fall 2016 Portfolio Tasting (Fine Vines - Melrose Park IL): Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry. Slightly firm now, better to cellar for a year or two. Well made, traditionally styled. Very good value.

Domaines et Saveurs Burgundy Tasting (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. Fresh and pure black fruit with good density for its level. Slightly firm right now, so better to cellar for another year. Very good value in the old school style I like.

Sour cherry on the nose and palate. Thin to the point of watery. The opposite of focused fruit. Harmonious and decent length.
