Tasting, brief note. May 2015 disgorgement, containing many vintages in the blend. Ripe and slightly nutty with toast hints. Very good textures, very good for its price.
Tasting, brief note. March 2013 disgorgement. Ripe apple, rich and fat style. More rounded than I normally expect from BdB. Good for its level/price, but surprisingly I preferred the 2004 Brut Assemblage.
Tasting, brief note. February 2014 disgorgement. Rounded textures with lots of strawberry and some apple, this came across as very Pinot Noir. Certainly good, but I prefer the Brut over this more expensive Rosé Brut.
Tasting, brief note. Disgorgement 5/14. Mostly 2011, some 2010 wine. All about orchard fruit with floral hints. Moderate weight, very finessed. Very good now, better in a year or two. As almost always, a great value.
Tasting, brief note. Rich fruit coming across the opulent side, so rather forward and certainly fun. Moderate weight, nice overall balance. Will drink well young.
Tasting, brief note. 2015 disgorgement. 2011 base with wine from 4 additional vintages. Charming aromatics, then lean palate with the drying finish that often comes with Extra Brut, like it or not.
Tasting, brief note. I always like this wine and think it one of the best Pinot Noir driven values in champagne. True again for this very tasty latest release. 75% Pinot Noir.
Tasting, brief note. Disgorged in 2014, entirely from 2011 harvest. Fat and slightly opulent, this is very Pinot fruit-driven. Fun and easy to enjoy, perhaps less texturally exciting than some of the other Champagnes tasted today.
Tasting, brief note. Rich fruits showing red cherry and berry start-to-finish. Subtle background spice enhances everything. Very good weight. Very well balanced, even if still slightly firm. Cellar another year or two. 80% Sangiovese, rest Malvasia and Merlot.
Tasting, brief note. Popped and poured. Rich, dense, meaty and chocolaty. Much more modern styled than elegant, but very long, powerful and tasty. Very long finish. 100% Merlot from Chianti proper.
France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Saumur-Champigny
Tasting, brief note. Floral start with ripe black fruit aromas. Less robust palate starts off nicely, Flavors shorten quickly. Most likely much better with food.
Tasting, brief note. Black fruit and spice aromas. Same flavors. Slightly firm now, but overall good balance. Very impressive value wine. Very good now, prob better in one year.
Tasting, brief note. Lots of red cherry in a lean, classic style. Spice hints, good textures throughout. Good length and finesse. Good young. Worth seeking for a Barolo to drink young.
Tasting, brief note. Black cherry throughout. Ripe and opulent aromas, more restrained flavors. Good density. Light hand nicely done on new oak. My favorite of the three tasted.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Côte de Beaune Villages
Tasting, brief note. Good fruit throughout, savory background spice. Still slightly firm. Good now, but better to cellar for another year or two. 100% from Pernand-Vergelesses fruit, so no surprise this punches above its weight class, and a great value wine.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
Tasting, brief note. Nice floral start with lemon custard and apple. Good flavors, slightly less complex. Moderate weight. Very good for its level, good value wine. Best in the near-term.

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Apple, lemon with nice floral start. Slightly fatter and richer vs St Aubin Remilly, but not quite as long and precise. Still, this is very good, and probably better in another year or two.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. Red cherry and berry, floral subtle spice. Very charming and balanced. No green hints at all. Better than when last tasted two years ago.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, La Grande Rue Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. This also keeps getting better each time I taste it. Mostly red cherry with some black fruit hints. Spice coming through on nose and finish. Good density, while having an elegant, weightless texture. Lots of upside.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Floral, apple and lemon peel aromas. Similar flavors, nicely forward and balanced now. Slightly bigger than I recall from when tasted 6 months ago.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Floral start with plenty of citrus. Great structure in background providing nice textures. Lean and elegant, this might still have a little upside going forward. Very charming, but I prefer her 2011 Chaumees I've enjoyed 2-3 times in the past two years.
Tasting, brief note. Elegant and well textured with wonderful balance and savory character throughout. Slightly less rich vs my preconceived expectation of Deiss at this level.
France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Savennières-Coulée de Serrant
Tasting, brief note. Lemon peel and custard with dried apricot and a sense of toasted rye bread. Very charming and complex with an expanding finish. I have the feeling this wine needs a full evening's attention to really appreciate. I'd expect it will also be better with some more time in the cellar.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Slightly reductive nose. Ripe red fruit clearly coming through with Vosne-styled spice. Good concentration and freshness on palate, particularly the finish. 90 point potential, needs more time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
Tasting, brief note. I haven't tasted this wine in 4 years, so good to revisit. All red fruit with very good savory spice. Very ripe but enough structure to maintain balance. Very good now, this will easily age and evolve nicely over at least another decade. Very good for its level.
Tasting, brief note. Floral and tropical with butterscotch and honeycomb. Very tasty right now, perhaps tastier a year ago, but very unctuous and enjoyable today.
Tasting, brief note. Floral with big, ripe, fun fruit. Moderate length and finesse. Good now. Fresher than another bottle tasted in Burgundy six months ago.
Tasting, brief note. Black and red cherry. Simple but real harmony in the glass. Entering its peak drinking window, prob best 2017-2021. Good value for near-term pleasure.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Tasting, brief note. Black and meaty, this is classic Gevrey. Still a little more firm than I'd hope at this level at this age, so possibly still wanting more cellar time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Tasting, brief note. Very dense black fruit with roast meat character. Very long and powerful for it level. Perhaps barely entering its peak drinking window, I'd really like to try this again around 2020.
