Wow. This wine really surprised me. Good color. Great nose of smoke and pepper and this vanilla/chocolate/red fruit thing on the sides of palate with nice finish. Does not need food. Great QPR!!

Weeknight with Mikhail and Sveta: Medium ruby color. Rhônish nose of red berries, roast meat, herbs and pungent spice. On the palate this was juicy with really nice acidity and soft tannin.

A CA and OZ Syrah/Shiraz go head-to-head (queens): Started out with a CA typical nose - vanilla and power but soon that blew off to reveal red fruit, herbs and smoke - very rhone-like indeed. in the mouth - even more classical, fresh with lovely streak of acid, cranberry finish, great ripe but more earthy fruit. this is really good and a QPR by far! darn that means more buying! excellent job!

(Point Concepción Syrah Cuvée Jalama) From screwcap - showing a little reduction on nose of burnt rubber, black fruit and anise; black fruit, anise, black raspberry palate; medium-plus finish

Very good cooler-climate Syrah fruit. Perhaps a touch heavy on the oak for now, but a fine wine.
