Stood up for several weeks. Decanted from fine sediment. Now 2h after decant. Lovely aromas of just ripe cherries, bark, some stems, and sous bois. Palate w tart red and black cherries, bark, minerals, a hint of sous bois and green stems. Noce acids on a medium+ body. Mild+ tannins. Excellent concentration. Nice finish. Flavors are nicely integrated and nicely balanced. Still w some rusticity but in a good way. In a good place and I like this..

Previous bottles of this 2008 were green, lean and pretty unpleasant, so it was a nice surprise to find this one seems to have moved beyond that hard shut down stage. There are still green notes on the nose, but they are more of the crushed savory herb variety, a bit Thanksgiving-y, really, including some cranberries. To the palate, this is nicely crunchy and medium bodied with more of those meaty notes present. Rustic and a little disjointed, but in a way that fits puzzle-like into the spaces a roast chicken leaves to be filled. Not the best vintage - it was tough to get ripe up north in 2008 - but just fine.

Stood up for a week and decanted off fine sediment, of which there was a small amount. Took about 1.5 h in decanter to open up fully. Now 2.5h after decant. Lovely aromas of earth, mix of green and brown stems, cherries, and baking spices. Tart red cherries, tart blackberries, earth, bark and hints of baking success. Moderate tannins on midpalate. Excellent acids on a medium bodied frame. Moderate finish. Lively, juicy, and delicious. I think this can improve sone more. Open no ext bottle in 5 yrs. 90+

Brian McClintic @RN74 All-French Dinner (RN74): Diminished concentration, dark ruby to a ruby rim. Slight reduction on the nose. Core of earthy umami, pinot-funk, reductive truffly-cherry. SO GOOD. Blueberry, red fruit (submerged), light oak, presenting as a toasty outline. Bright cherry skin. Medium minus body, moderate alcohol (13%)[correct-13%]. Elevated acidity. The flavors are transparent and intense. Silky light tannins, with length. I might have just had a Pinot-piphany! Score: Between 9 and 9.5 ~$40

3/7/2015 - Serge Birbrair Does not like this wine:
Absent nose, unremarkable mid-palate and rustic finish. This is pure WTF wine if you compare to Lyle's write up of it.
