Opened 917/12, was expecting it to be past prime and was pleasantly surprised. Color was still deep garnet, no "brown" tinge. Aromas are floral and fruit-filled, and flavor profile still rich in dark fruit (dark cherry, blueberry, plum). Tannins softened to almost velvety/cabernet-like, but still present, giving structure to the core and the finish. Some minerality on the finish, adding interest and structure. Was amazed this wine has held up this well, with a grace not usually associated with Petite Sirah.

Found this botle buried in one of my cellar bins. Was not holding up much hope for it, but it turned out to be quite tasty. A little musty/dusty on the nose, but it blew off after 10 minutes. Brambly blackberry and cranberry fruit, shaded with leather and orange peel. Nice long persistent finish, with plenty of fresh acidity left. Definitely in the late stages of its lifecycle, but still enjoyable.

Opened up after about 15 minutes. Deep maroon color showing no signs of age. I picked up some floral notes on the nose that I usually associate with a Pinot. Good fruit and the years in the bottle have softened the tannins though they are still present. Not bad but either my palate was getting tired or it was fading. Will vacu-vin and taste again on Saturday.

Nose of blueberry, with whiff of barnyard. Medium bodied and on the thin side. Flavors of cherry and blueberry with lots of oak. Still strong tannins. Decent

A fabulous wine! Well balanced, but robust. Cherry, raspberry and a long finish.
The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium.
