Most restricted wine of them all. I've got a 14 of this so I will plan on locking it away for 15 years or so. Sweeter black fruit dominated front. For some reason in the middle of this, I was getting an oatmeal chocolate cookie note with some dates and black pepper on the finish. Softer tannin, but ample. Solid 92 now, perhaps capable of more?

Many attributes of an outstanding wine - deep & dark garnet, full body, and rich berry flavors. Definitely good - but not great. Tasted next to another very nice Napa Cab at similar price. Tannins were a bit too sharp, and flavors not quite smooth enough. Perhaps a couple more years would help.

Opened in the bottle for 4 hours. This was very expressive and soft right after opening therefore electing to skip the decant. Structured but not tannic or acidic. Loads of extracted black fruit, stewed plums, mulled spices, licorice, smoke, and minerals. Definitely pruned and baked but still elegant. Entering into its prime drinking window now.

Still young - needs more bottle cellar time. Clearly a Stag's Leap cab. A bit jammy at this stage with evident tannins but in a soft, smooth style. Should evolve nicely with more age. We are fans of Celia Welch wines.
