Opened this bottle a bit after its prime, poured a ruby color and initially didn't show much fruit. A little time and air revealed a bit of dark raspberry and a faint scent of tropical fruit. There was also a touch of musty fruit skin.
On the palate, there was a little more tannic structure to accompany the raspberry flavor than I expected with a Beaujolais village.

Tropical fruit on the nose, surprising (but pleasant) sweetness on the initial taste, with a long-lasting mouthfeel. A very nice wine, that I had without any food. I'll try it with pasta soon.

Seems more extracted and tannic than the typical Beaujolais, with more dark than red fruit and a subdued nose. Lacks earth, but has an easy drinking character.
