Simply amazing. Opened 7 hrs before dinner and let it sit. Decided to not decant which was a good decision. It was so smooth and delicious. Everyone loved the wine. Maggie is a genius.

Open that bottle - Joe chooses NV Lillian Cabernet: Splash decant. We could not conclude whether this "NV California Cabernet" was a blend of 2009 and 2010 or 2010 and 2011. It is supposedly from the True Vineyard.
The alcohol was noticeable and either blew off or I eventually didn't notice it anymore. This wine is dense with ripe fruit. The wine is soft with almost no tannin and just a touch of acid. Beef blood and tart cherry. I feel this wine is 75% about the fruit with some minor interests besides. It has a typical Lilian profile which is a softer version of Sine Qua Non.

Open THAT Bottle! (Jason's House): This was a unicorn wine (how often do you see an expensive NV Cabernet?) First time trying one of these and felt right in my wheelhouse. Seems my experience with this wine differs than people's more recent experiences. My one gripe is that apparently Maggie made a 2010-11, and a 2013-14...and no way that I am aware of to differentiate the bottles. Which ever this was, it was drinking great!
Nose: The nose showed plenty of perfumed flowers (violets rose petal and lilac) with lots of cherry notes and some spice.
Palate: Exploded with red fruit, dark and tart cherries, some beef blood and hints of anise, chocolate and toast. Tannins were smooth and silky, enough acidity to give the fruit a little liveliness! A very enjoyable Cabernet that held up well all night, and even evolved some with some darker fruits coming through more toward the end of the night.
I really enjoyed this wine. 93+ to 94 for my palate!
A prior bottle of this was absolutely stellar, we had another a couple nights ago and let it breath for hours and the wine was still really tight and one dimensional, and stayed the same even on day 2. Might be just last it’s prime at this point in time.
