From amber at day one to a colour akin to used motoroil after several days in the chilled opened bottle. This is a splendid wine that really deserves the full attention of the wine lover. Concentrated and overwhelming intense on the nose and on the palate with flavors and scents of dried apricots, dates, raisins, honey, smoke and oranges. On the palate there is a oily intense sweetness that is however balanced by acidity in a perfect way. Long, with an aftertaste that is carried by acidity for many minutes. A great worldclass sweet dessert wine! Given how it is developing from the opened bottle this should age gracefully for one or two decades if perfectly stored. 5/13/19/10

Dinner at Passionfish with Max (Passionfish, Carmel CA): Deep caramel color; highly aromatic, spice, dried raisinated fruits; medium bodied, medium sweetness, fades through the mid palate; short finish. Good, but not at the level of Donnafugata that I’ve tried before. 86-87

Very good. Raisiny but complex and balanced (not too sweet).
