  • 100% Pinot Noir, dosage 3g.

Very spicy nose of cinnamon and nuts.

Drunk for the first time in October 2023, this second bottle from this plot delivers identical sensations, namely a wine that evolves quickly but stable. I wrote at the time “touch of oxidation, a good dose of spices and vinosity, particularly on the cinnamon, and a nice finish on the nuts. Correct length”.

I drink quite a bit of 2009 in champagne, I like the profile that this vintage offers today, but I would avoid keeping them for too long, particularly the vintages dominated by Pinot Noir which tend to evolve more quickly through compared to Chardonnays which prove to be more solid in terms of aging.

    Good champagne.

  • 100% pinot noir, dosage 3g

Very spicy nose of cinnamon and nuts.

I had already reflected in 2022 on how the wines of the estate in 2009 with the “Les Barres” plot were evolving quickly. Confirmation here with single-plot pinot noir, which has a touch of oxidation, a good dose of spices and vinosity, particularly cinnamon, and a nice nutty finish. Correct length. However, what about the fairly low acidity and the impact on the aging of the estate’s wines? The juice is certainly of good quality, but it evolves quickly, although I am pleased to taste the pleasant 2009s before the 2008s.

Good champagne, I expected something else given the reputation the estate has acquired.

  • Very tight and structured when first opened. Needed about an hour to start to show anything. Then after another hour it was really starting to show beautiful red berry fruit, depth and wonderful minerality. These need time, wait at least 3-4 years before checking again.

  • I cannot agree with Seth on this one. This is a very different unique Champagne with a very very beautiful nose. The palate is a little more on the structured side but with air this really turned into a beauty in Boredeaux white glasses!!

  • Fete de Champagne Grand Tasting (Astor Center, NYC.): (100% Pinot Noir) Beer, lemon, acid and minerals on the nose. Similar on the palate. These 09 C-T's are weird to me.
