Technically, the 2013 is probably past its prime, but I opened today and still tastes good. That was unexpected for such a reasonably priced red blend. Still has some tobacco and leathery notes, with a jammy finish. Legit tannins.

Opened for a burger dinner and, from the start, showed true to form with candied red fruit from the Grenache and plenty of fruit from the Zinfandel. A little air brought out strawberries and cracked black pepper.
On the palate, the tartness of raspberries and strawberries with a touch of vanilla come forward. With juicy tannins on the finish, this Zin based blend paired well with the black pepper burgers.

Easy, appealing, fruit-led. Accessible. Hint of something more - something wild and gamey, esp on the nose - from the 14% Shiraz in the blend. Quite expensive for what it is.

A fun, enjoyable wine, with loads of fruit including raspberries, blackberries, cherries and plums, with a hint of Oak. Easy on the palate, medium bodied and jammy. A good opener for a mixed crowd.
