Monthly Tasting Group LTB; California (by MdW): Very special bouquet; dried red fruits, currants; special. Same on the palate; some medicine and spiciness as well. Rusty metal……Seems to be ready now. Not really a wine I would buy.

Don't let the skull on the label scare you off, this is an interesting wine. Blackberry and white pepper nose, deep dark purple color, big fruit start with a spicy and acidic finish which is something that I like, it gives something to the wine to offset the big fruit. Make sure and let this wine breathe – has a bit of acetone at first.
87 points.
Cheers! -Tim
Tim has put this really well above, after having this at 38 Central at lunch we both really enjoyed it. To my surprise there it was at Harry and David over the weekend for under $20. This could be considered a Zinfandel varietal wine but the 10% Syrah adds so much to the overall wine I think of it as a blend. A great fruit, strawberry, raspberry, pepper and very spicy. Very drinkable without food but enjoyable with both light and heavy fair. Buy it, Drink it I'm going back for more.

nose: strong alcohol vapors, modest earthy character
taste: chocolate and raspberries, touch of spice, raunchy big flavors, medium bodied

Plummy jamfruit, a hint of acidity, mild tannins. A nice, easy drinking day/night wine.
