Ruby garnet hue that opens with rose and red licorice aromas. Cranberry and cherry flavors dominate the front palate while mushroom and allspice linger on a medium length finish. Great balance and integration of fruit/acidity and medium tannins. Paired nicely with beef bourguignon.

Pinot wine swap night. Aired in bottle for 2 hours already. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of red cherries, brambles, earth, tea leaves, cough drops/syrup with more air. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), rounded medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sour red cherries, dried red cherry plum, tea leaves, earth, brambles spice. Cough syrup with more air. Prickly and sour on day 2. Long finish. Good quality. This bottle feels a little more advanced than the previous bottle earlier this year.

Pinot Noir theme night at Maison Dakota. Tasted blind. Aired in bottle and drank over 2 hours. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with garnet edge. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of earth, brambly spice, ripe red cherries, bits of wood. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), supple rounded medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of red plum, ripe red cherries, brambly spice, earth. Long finish. Good quality. I was guessing some 2010 or 2012 Morey-St-Denis 1er Cru? Good nose and balance overall, though the palate lacks some intensity. Tough guess.
