P&P nose of coffee bean, some chocolate covered berries. Mouth showed smoke/ash (agree with tstud),mild fruit, rustic, moderate tannin/acidity, definitely espresso roast on the finish. not bad for sub $10...and agree with coupe 60 that it would suffice for large parties, especially at $5

Very dark red to almost opaque in color (and instantly teeth staining). Raisin, plum, and big time smoke/ash and black pepper on the nose. Not much fruit on the palate--a bit of cherry, but primarily spicy black pepper and minerality. This wine is almost entirely weighted on the finish, which is spicy and a good length, but there's not enough fruit to balance out the spice and minerality. Got this '07 on sale for $5 (!), and am drinking in Dec. '10, so thinking it may have passed its prime. Not terrible, but I prob. wouldn't buy again (even at that price).

Not sure how to describe this one.. very simple, a bit too ripe, and to me it reminded me of a wine that's been open for a day or 2.. oxidized notes, but its a screw cap finish that was tightly sealed, so if that's the true flavor profile of the wine, than not a fan.
EDIT: Just noticed, 2009 is the current vintage of this... perhaps since this is 2007 its just tired and over the hill, and should have been drank 18-24 months ago.. unfortunately, I just bought it... buyer beware....

Smokey. Tobacco and dark fruits. Empty mid-palate. Spicy finish.
