  • 4/6, decanted 1/2 hr.
Medium/deep garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose shows sour red cherry, spice, earth, some leather and mushroom. Quite developed. Medium bodied, spicy red fruit, some leather and mushroom, quite deep, soft, fully resolved tannins, finish is harmonious if not overly long. Very good indeed, would say at its peak but will probably go another 3-4 years.

  • Medium deep garnet core, pale garnet rim. Attractive, limpid. Nose shows red cherry fruit, touch of spice and celery. Medium/full bodied, deep, pure red cherry, lovely bright acidity, touch of bloodiness, tannins quite soft, very good length finish, bit of grip, hint of sourness. Excellent, still drinking well, no hurry with these.

  • Classic developed Sangiovese appearance with medium/deep garnet/russet core, pale garnet rim. On the nose this has sour red cherry, almond, floral touches, spice and a touch of soil. Medium/full bodied on the palate, this has softened nicely with resolved tannins, attractively pure cherry fruit, notes of spice and earth, vibrant acids and a good length, harmonious, spicy finish. This has matured well and is now drinking beautifully.

  • Medium/deep garnet core, pale garnet rim. Initially a little sweaty on the nose, but soon blows off to reveal moderately intense pure red cherries, classic sour notes, hints of spice and liquorice. Medium/full bodied on the palate with fresh, crunchy red cherry fruit, spice, touch of earth, crisp acidity and still quite firm tannins particularly on the medium/good length finish which also shows a herbal note. Very good indeed, may improve with another year or two in bottle.
