Drinking incredibly well right now (Nov 2018). So well balanced on the nose and palate. Nose has dust and earth, a bit of pleasant olive / vegetal, a core of dark fruit, and a touch of menthol. Palate has cassis, chalk / stone, and menthol again. Perfect mild / moderate acid and tannins. I am really enjoying this one.

A: Deep ruby. High viscosity. N: Medium (+) nose. EARTH, licorice, EUCALYPTUS, blueberry, cassis, cherry, vanilla, SMOKE, tobacco, baking spice, coffee. Developing P: Dry, medium (+) acid, high tannin, medium (+) intensity, high alcohol, full body, long finish. C: Can drink now but has potential for aging. Very Good to Outstanding Quality wine. Its a beautiful example of what Malbec can achieve. I was very excited by this. Good QPR at $20
GUESSES: Color, type of fruit and eucalyptus said Malbec but far more refined and complex than its Argentinan sibling.

Oog: Helder, vol, granaat rood, matige doorzichtigheid, gevulde meniscus, grote viscositeit, licht gekleurde tranen.

Disappointingly oaky and international and overpriced at CDG airport shop, 23 EUR. Colour less black than much Cahors. The oak wafted out of the glass on first sniff. Quite full bodied palate with some nice round fruit and decent acidity but oak patina and nothing that said Cahors or even Malbec. Only fair.

Very deep and complex wine. Rich leather, black pepper, earthiness. Fantastic price; wish I'd bought more!
