Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 94.8 points

  • Bought 2 of these on release, and had one about 4 yrs ago. I said in that tasting note that it was one of the best Calif PN's I had ever tasted, and that is still true on this bottle. Lovely and brambly red fruits, tart cherry and some semi-ripe plum, alongside cola, damp forest floor, sage, cinnamon. Just keeps going, gorgeously fresh acidity to make the wine lip-smackingly delicious and long on the finish.
Drink through 2024 or so, now is likely ideal. Loved it.

  • Great bottle of wine. A lot of cherry and raspberry. A bit of zing when first opened, but very pleasant. I can see how this could age remarkably well for quite a few years.

  • Wow - this was amazingly good. Like a 12 Burg this was really way too young to drink but you can tell the class of this wine from the first sip. Amazing red fruits - cherries, red berries, raspberry and some black fruits. A ton of structure in here that needs to resolve but even today this is balanced and very drinkable. This should have no problem seeing its 20th birthday and beyond. Upside to the score.

  • 1st of 2 bottles. Paid $75 at a Raj Paar event for these wines.
My bottle has no mention of Evening Land on it...just Sandhi La Cote.
This is utterly delicious PN from SRH.
Tart red cherry and raspberry fruit, with woodsmoke, spice, and dried tobacco.
A seamless texture on the palate, with finely grained tannins and beautiful astringency from the balanced acidity.
Weighing in at 13.4% abv, this wine is medium in body and has a long and lip-smacking finish.
Pure class, one of the best Pinot's from Calif I have ever, ever had. Drink now through 2023 or so.

  • Strong cherry on the nose; a bit of old world earthiness as well. Well integrated acid and flavor. A bit closed until 30 minutes in the glass. Long finish that was smooth and flavorful. A well-made Pinot!
