A disappointing wine. It finishes so short. I tasted this at the winery, and commented on the lack of length - was told this was because it was mature. It has a good Hunter fruit profile, but lacks most everything else. I think this would have been good a few years ago, but it's really not a wine I would be buying now.

Hunter Valley - 6 Cellar Doors (Hunter Valley): {screwcap, 13%, A$45} Rich and plummy earth-infused nose ; and palate too, along with mulberries and plum flavours. Even palate; it’s begun to move off primary certainly, but is still a way from its peak. Medium dusty tannins, medium oak, acid, body; it’s all very well balanced and structured. Somewhat developed, might have some way further to go, should hold another ten years easy.

Wine-Ark boys on tour - Hunter Valley 2014 - Day 2 (Hunter Valley): Medium plus intensity concentrated and ripe jammy plums and blackberries with plenty of spice. In the mouth the wine has flavours of confected ripe plum fruit. Talc like tannin though the wine is quite thick on the palate and the fruit carries on the long finish. Nice but still very youthful. Good but not for me
