Very savoury - a little bottle variation ... lacks finesse and structure to merit 90+ but is very good wine. Drink now as mature and already secondary.

Deep dark garnet with browning edges. Very aromatic - I could smell it across the room! Loaded with sandalwood, cherry pie, leather, cooking pork fat, and lots of piney juniper with anise on the end. Similar flavor profile, but with more red fruit, cherry cola, and a bit of bitter herb note on the end. For all that's going on it lacks a bit of acidity - I wouldn't say it's flabby, because it is balanced, but due to lack of acidity I don't think this will age very well past how it's drinking now, which is very good. Drink up!

Perfect with homemade lasagna. Nice astringent finish to keep it all in balance. A real value for the price. Truly and extra dimension from a basic Chianti, but nothing heady to drink with basic Italian.
