Root day - This is a brilliant wine tonight! Nose of damp earth, leather, crushed autumn leaves, cherry, dried cherry, dried roses and more... Palate of ripe cherry fruit, leather, baking spices and more... The finish is long with the fruit and light leather continuing along with soft floral notes. At its peak but will stay on the plateau for years to come.

Clear deep garnet-blood red. Bouquet of dusty dried sour cherries, creme de cassis, leather, sandalwood, nutmeg, dried flowers, mushrooms, stony soil, hint of soy sauce. Similar on the palate, full body, nice balance, bit of brandy-like heat. Chalky tannins, mouthwatering tartness, very nice with pasta bolognese.

Clear ruby/brick core of moderate intensity with a thin garnet rim suggesting some maturity. Clean intense nose of earth, mushroom and a wonderful funky compost. Definite development of primary aromas heading to a mature bouquet of leather and figs. Dry intense softy sweet on the entry with deep and complex layers of earthy cherry fruit. Acidity is moderate and it's medium bodied. Moderate finish of cherry and oak with harder tannins becoming obvious on the finish that ends with a bit of characteristic bitterness. Starting to mature, this is a wine of very good quality. Everything is in balance but it will still develop even more due to having a sufficient quality of everything necessary for a long life. Drink now but will last for 5+ years easily under good cellaring conditions.

Delicious. Everything you expect from Chianti and more. Went well with tri tip at the river.
