I first tasted this at the winery back in 2015. Liked it enough to buy 2 bottles. First bottle a couple of years ago was decent. Just cracked the second one and unfortunately the wood is more pronounced now than the fruit. A lot less to my liking.

a blend of Chardonnay grapes from 2 distinct Ontario regions …. the steely, lemony, chalky, austere minerality of Prince Edward County with a warmer caramel, buttery, pineapple and lemony Niagara region. Think of a Chablis meets a lightly toasty Sonoma style chardonnay. Yummy. 2 opposing taste patterns at once ….. mineral, lemony, austere, with a bit of zippy acidity , a touch of puckering tartness. Then fold on a more chalky, creamy, buttery, caramel/vanilla mid palate to finish . Not Napa butter … more mild. Both opposing patterns fold onto and into each other. Fascinating.

Nose is very attractive, dominatednby oak and fermentation notes. Palate is likewise short on fruit with a chalky finish.

Plus de bois que la dernière. Moins équilibré, moins agréable. C'est la dernière et c'est ok comme ça...
