  • This wine is an excellent example of the "great divide" that exists between high-quality white Burgundy and comparably-priced New World Chardonnay offerings. There is no right or wrong answer, but the differences can be striking. In this case, Kermit Lynch has selected a gem to be used for comparison. From vines averaging 52 years in age, it offers honeycrisp apple, wet stone, lemon zest and ginger aromas which are followed by similar flavors. The frame is light-bodied, freshly acidic and seamlessly alcoholic (13.5%). The oak component is subtle and the flavors build nicely in the middle. The wine's medium-to-long, crisp finish is the culmination of a superb effort that performs well above its pedigree. Drink now-2019.
