  • My previous tasting notes still apply. A perfectly acceptable and balanced dry-to-off-dry Muscat.

  • 9 g/l of residual sugar.

Quite neutral, pale yellow-green color. Somewhat restrained nose - a rather atypical quality for a Muscat - with sweet, musqué aromas of perfumed floral notes, some grapey character and a hint of honeyed mead. Medium-bodied and somewhat round yet bright enough on the palate with good, high acidity. Lively and quite intense flavors of pronounced floral character, exotic spices, some grapey fruit and a little bit of pear drops. Medium-long finish with quite pronounced spicy character, some aromatic floral character and a little bit of citrus fruits.

A reliable, balanced dry Muscat. Shows good typicity and the balance between the acidity, the residual sugar and the floral character is very good here - some bone-dry Muscats can be quite uncompromising and aggressive with their stark contrast between the sweet nose and the spicy, robust palate. The sugar here brings some welcome softness and roundness to the wine while the acidity keeps the wine fresh and lively. Not a memorable wine in any way, but a thoroughly decent alternative to Alsatian entry-level Muscat, if you happen to be in a pinch. Priced according to its quality at 9,99€.
