  • Pretty much fully opaque blackish-red color. Very dense, dark-toned and concentrated nose with brooding aromas of extracted oak spice, savory licorice tones, some cacao nibs, a little bit of minty herbal character, light jammy dark fruits and a hint of very ripe blackberry. The oak characteristics are much more to the fore than the fruit department. The wine is dense, full-bodied and very ripe on the palate with really concentrated flavors of chocolatey oak, brooding oak spice, some licorice tones, a little bit of extracted woody bitterness, light blackberry jam tones, a hint of pruney dark fruit and a touch of toffee. Overall the wine feels quite weighty and very concentrated with low-to-medium acidity and rather mellow ripe tannins. The finish is very long and rich with intense flavors of chocolatey oak and cocoa, bittersweet dark chocolate, a little bit of minty herbal character, light blackberry jam tones, a hint of pruney fruit and a touch of overripe plums.

SO MUCH NOPE. Ugh. This is just overripe fruit with over-extracted new oak. There's no sense of structure whatsoever and the wine tastes like Starbucks mocha latte with an extra dose of chocolate syrup. With no new oak this could be somewhat acceptable yet overripe fruit bomb, but with all its glossy new oak sheen this is just repugnant stuff. A monstrosity if there ever was one. Ridiculously overpriced at 99,99€.
