Mid week Burgs with Paul at Trade Kitchen (Trade Kitchen, Wellington): An attractive, polished nose of black cherries, blackberries and minerals, with something musky, gamey and earthy in the background. In the mouth, the first impression is of the bright acidity. A very brisk, fresh and young seeming Burgundy. I guessed it might be an '08 Corton. A good volume of dense black fruit. Svelte, fine grained tannins. No edges to this wine. More fruit and intensity than the Mugnier, to offset the serious tannin structure. Surprisingly approachable now, I'd ideally give it another 5+ years.
