  • I had an premox bottle last time, but this time, it was ok. And I tell you, when it's ok, it's fantastic. Every sense is touched on the right way. And a very nice future ahead. Chapeau!

  • Deep lemon colour .
Sweet ripe fruits and a little honeysuckle .
Plump and ripe, fleshy, creamy, now nicely opened up but with finishing with plenty of acidity. Flavours are almost tropical, peaches and melons. White blossoms , talc, orange, quite a distinctive profile . Structure is very drinkable now. Could age but why wait.

  • Bought a few bottles some time ago given some of the raving critic reviews, and poured a Coravin glass today to get a sense of this wine which I have never had before.
A surprisingly evolved pale golden yellow, a shade of yellow I would expect to see somewhere around age 10-12 for a Burgundy. Initially a bit closed on the nose with citrus and some oak. On the attack first plenty of minerality, good tension and texture, then a rather big and broad mid palate, despite having good acidity comes across initially very new worldish with plenty of oak and early nutty notes like a mature Chardonnay. With more air this develops more layers and complexity on the palate, with ever increasing length / finish. A bit like a high end California Chardonnay with higher acidity and lower alcohol.
Now I see why BH suggests drinking 2021+, as this needs plenty of time to integrate, and fully absorb the oak. An excellent Chardonnay for sure, but less convinced this is a wine I will want to have when opening a Meursault. Only time will tell I guess. Overall around 91 for me today.
