The view you take on this wine will depend on what you want in a) your Cabernet and b) Red Wine generally. I can relate to what La Cave and KSDE wrote despite both taking quite different views.
I was in the mood for something 'naughty' (think Asterix in Switzerland) and this was perfect. It is a vinous equivalent of Stormy Daniels, or the Chippendales, or fondue and the whip. If you want the equivalent of an evening listening to classical music, with a good book to read (which I often do) then this is not going to be your friend.
It is only tangentially varietal (closer to blackberry jam than black currant), though there is a hint of leaf and tobacco, but it is quite regional - it is jammy, soft and totally slutty. There is a nice balance now with some earthy and Balsamic hints. There are days when this wine would really irritate, but today I want Boogie, big women and big wine and it is superb. Nyaw! More cigars!

At this stage in its evolution, Kangarilla Road's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is an opaque garnet wine with fairly good structure, but lacking the flavors to make the tasting experience fully enjoyable. While there is still some dark plum fruit, it plays second fiddle to earth, tobacco and dried herbs. Medium-to-full-bodied and with fresh acidity, it hides its 14.5% alcohol well, is softly oaked and has tannins that are medium in weight but a bit coarse in texture. Thinning on the mid-palate and closing with a clipped finish, this is a wine that, while drinkable, lacks any degree of charm. More time in the cellar is not the answer here. Drink now.

I scored this an 87 on the first night. After leaving half of the bottle for the second night, I can say that it was much better. The tannins softened and the cab nose was more noticeable. Nice minty- black olive nose and smooth/velvety palate develops. 90 points on the second night.

Still too young at this stage. Need to wait another few years.

Deep garnet color. Good with steak, blackberries. But a bit sour when just sipped.
