(Tamarack Cellars Sagemoor Vineyard Reserve Columbia Valley) An aromatically appealing wine with notes of cocoa powder, black currant, fresh herbs, mineral, and cherry. The palate is on the lighter side of medium bodied with firm, somewhat dry tannins and a lingering finish. Give at least two years. Sample provided by winery.

The highly expressive nose was rich with bright red fruits, dark, rich soil, tobacco and woodland tones. On the palate, this showed notable structure, yet it was perfectly balanced by its red-fruit profile with hints of espresso, roasted almond and spice. It finished firm with underlying tension.

Big bodied with tons of structure; probably will be several years before it starts to peak. Right now it's primarily a black fruit, tobacco, and oak experience.
