  • By the glass once again to finish an excellent dinner at The Kitchen Table in London.
    Much like the 2012 we tried here pretty much a year ago this is not an overly sweet proposition. However unlike the 2012 this felt a bit bitter and difficult. As always good acidity is text book here but maybe a touch too much and there is very little of the fruit character. 85

  • The wine is clear and bright with a pale gold colour.

    The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of tropical fruit (pineapple, very ripe banana), stone fruit (very ripe peaches) and botrytis (candied orange peel, honey, hints of nail varnish remover).

    The wine is sweet in the mouth with a high zesty acidity. It has a medium alcohol and a medium(+) body. It has medium(+) intensity flavours of tropical fruit (pineapple, very ripe banana), stone fruit (very ripe peaches) and botrytis (candied orange peel, honey, hints of nail varnish remover). The finish is long.

    It is a very good quality wine. It has a lingering finish and concentrated flavours. The fruit concentration and the sweetness are well-balanced by the acidity, however a better example of this style would show more complexity.

    Can drink now, but it has enough acidic structure and fruit concentration to develop some more complex tertiary aromas over the next 5-8 years.
