Winetasting Burgundy vintages 2002 and 2005 (13 bottles): This half blind tasting focused on "middle class" Burgundy mainly from 2002 and 2005. Overall conclusion: All vintages are still performing well. Vintage 2002 is charming, easy to drink, still good concentration, rounded tannins. 2005 is dark, has more alcohol, higher tannins, more acidity, very good balance.
This wine: Just like Denis Mortet En Deree 2002 this cuvee develops fast and negatively in the glass. Begins as 92+ and ends as 91. However I still like it. Medium garnet color. Aromas of raspberry and licorice. Medium acidity and tannin.

Served blind. Sweet spice, red blue fruit, smoke, legging tannin. Deep mellow palate, simply superb sweetness and energy. This is close to Grand Cru in every aspect, just delicious. 94-95

Granted, this was served along side with wines primarily from the 70s so it stuck out for its age but it showed really well. Leesy and nutty which is unusual for a red wine but very welcomed. Rich, puckering fruit. Fascinating wine. High toned red berries, raspberries and cherries. Young but good and open for business.
