On nose : medium+ intensity, red fruit : raspberries, prominent red flora, rose, black date, herbaceous, a hint of spiciness and vanilla oak.
On palate : much more intensity than on nose, dry and high acidity, some raspberries, very fragrant red flora, tea leaves, silky tannin, med+ finishing with some mineral aftertaste.
A good wine best match with smoke duck breast. The flavour of the smoke was raised and cohere lovely. Should be hold for 5 more years and I believe the wine can go further development. It is a bit expensive which cost me $HKD 1080

Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Vougeot (Overgaauw Wine Estate): (Tasted Blind): Initial feral qualities of Brett towards reductive rubber? Then, upon swirling, hints of red fruits and chocolate on the nose are joined by forest floor and minerals. A soft, succulent entry yet delicately framed with a mineral to chalky, edgy, almost sharp acidity. The core is filled with raspberry fool, wild forest berries, red cherry, and blackberry with a touch of toasty oak, and the funkiness from the nose persists. A big, full-bodied wine enhances plurality yet has an elegant feel. I found the tannins quite sturdy and, with the higher acidity, suggested a cooler year. Closes with savoury notes of meat stock, roasted herbs and button mushrooms. Astonishingly long in the mouth!

Clos Vougeot horizontal: 33 wines from the 2013 vintage (Fine+Rare Wine London): Floral aromatics, spice. A firmness on the palate. Certain austerity, but ripe tannin and a long finish. Needs time to come together. Here a case of not being surprised when I found out who the producer was. I met Boillot some five years ago. He is a very careful winemaker who seeks the highest quality. Excellent quality here, too and a wine that does reflect grand cru terroir.
