This is real Pinot. The first impression even before you get a good sniff, is big sunshine, ripe, California, spicy red and dark fruit. The following fruit flavors have an impressive and intense depth and breadth of all things red fruit. Not just fruit, there is loads of enhancing secondary flavors of wet dirt and minerals. Picture perfect Pinot color. Still young, the acid is bright and could really use a decant. Weighty mouth feel for a Pinot. So balanced it leaves the impression of sweetness though it is totally dry. Very moderate use of oak, this one is mostly natural. Tastes like a wine that costs twice as much.

This is an excellent Pinot for the money. It is medium weight with lots of characteristic flavor and no discernible flaws. Four of us drinking this all loved it so much we opened a second bottle which was gone by the end of the evening. I was able to order an additional case online for less than $15/bottle.

A different animal from the 12, which was riper but also had a slight toughness to the tannin that made it inward when it should have been generous. This ripe enough its sweet cherry fruit but also has a wide open nose with herbal tinges, blond tobacco, and brisk acids while still being soft and broad. About as good as you're gonna get for $15 Cali Pinot noir.

(Old notes - tasting date not correct) Rustic nose; Tight; Darker flavors; Very California; Not bad

Redcurrant and cherry nose, the palate offers ripe red cherry fruit with a nice herb edge. Simple but delicious.
